Crystal Dynamics Asks Fans What They Want in a New ‘Legacy of Kain’ Entry

Published

on

Per PSU, Crystal Dynamics appears to be wasting no time polling fans’ interest when it comes to the Legacy of Kain series. After being sold to Embracer Group earlier this year, the developer has started sending out surveys (such as this one) with the intention of resurrecting the beloved franchise.

Apart from asking what entries in the series you’ve played, the survey asks players who their favourite protagonist in the series is between Kain and Raziel, and what aspects of the series that players enjoyed. It also asks whether you would rather see a new entry in the series, a remake of one of the past entries, or reboot the series entirely.

The survey also asks just what type of game the next entry would be, including a choice for a multiplayer game that will remind fans of Psyonix’s 2013 free-to-play multiplayer spin-off game, Nosgoth. Incidentally, of the titles listed in the survey, Nosgoth isn’t mentioned, which for longtime fans, is probably a good thing.

Given that Crystal Dynamics was so quick to send out the survey indicates that while they probably don’t have a new entry on the way just yet, they’re serious about revisiting the franchise, and want meet fans’ expectations before they proceed.

The last entry in the series, Legacy of Kain: Defiance, was released in 2003 for the PlayStation 2, Xbox and PC.
