‘Elden Ring’ Receives Free “Colosseum Update” DLC Today [Trailer]

In what could be seen as prep for The Game Awards tomorrow night, Bandai Namco and developer From Software have finally announced new DLC for Elden Ring. Best of all, it’s available today for free! The “Colosseum Update” brings new Player versus Player features to Elden Ring, as well as all-new cosmetic options.

According to the press release, the Colosseum Update adds three new arenas to Elden Ring. Located in Limgrave, Caelid and Leyndell, each arena comes with its own sets of rules and will be “theatres of fierce Player versus Player confrontations.”

The Limgrave Colosseum features two modes: United Combat and Combat Ordeal.

  • In United Combat, players will be divided into two teams to fight in timed battles with the ability to respawn. Each death and respawn grants points to the adversaries, offering victory to the team with the higher score.
  • In Combat Ordeal, it’s all out war. Combatants in this mode can also respawn until the timer hits zero, and the one with the most points gets the win.

The Royal Colosseum in Leyndell features Duel Mode. Two Tarnished will face off in a duel to the death, without the ability to respawn. Lastly, the Caelid Colosseum features all of the aforementioned modes, with the addition of being able to summon Spirit Ashes to fight by players’ sides. Players can fight on their own, or use group passwords to match up with or against friends.

As for the cosmetics, players get an additional five new hairstyles. Yeah, it’s not much, but the obvious draw here for Elden Ring players is the PvP combat in the Colosseum.

Elden Ring is up for Game of The Year honours at tomorrow’s Game Awards, alongside A Plague Tale: Requiem, God of War Ragnarok, Horizon Forbidden West, Stray, and Xenoblade Chronicles 3. The show airs tomorrow night at 7:30 PM ET/4:30 PM PT.

Elden Ring is available on PC via Steam, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One and the Xbox Series.

Come Face to Face With the Zombie Menace in the Story Trailer for ‘Zombie Army VR’ [Watch]

While there’s no definitive release date just yet, Rebellion is teasing fans with a new story trailer for the upcoming Zombie Army VR, which is expected to arrive later this year. The new trailer gives fans and prospective players a glimpse at the Zombie Army VR story campaign, which as you might have guessed, involves occult magic, waves of zombies, and plenty of headshots.

The game’s campaign takes place alongside the events of the Zombie Army series, and sees you take to the field as one of the Deadhunters, an elite squad that is hunting down zombie war criminals. You must fight your way through undead hordes near the bombed-out city of Nuremberg to help Captain Hermann Wolff, the Deadhunter’s legendary leader, find his scattered family and fight to free Europe from the zombie apocalypse.

As you navigate the full-length story campaign either alone or with an ally, you’ll have access to an arsenal of authentic World War II weaponry, including sniper rifles, submachine guns, pistols and more. As one would expect, VR brings a new level of immersion to the action of the Zombie Army series, which will require you to “get to grips” with using your hands to aim your rifle, dual-wield your side arm with a submachine gun, master reloading drills, and tossing grenades.

Zombie Army VR is currently in development for the PlayStation VR2, Meta Quest 2, 3, Pro, Oculus Rift and PC headsets via Steam.
