Limited Physical Release of Survival Horror Tribute Series ‘Heaven Dust Collection’ Coming Next Month

Published

on

2020’s Heaven Dust scratched that itch for those looking for some 90s-era Survival Horror gameplay when it was released for Steam and the Nintendo Switch. And now, thanks to Super Rare Games, One Gruel Studio and developer Indienova, those Switch gamers with a penchant for physical copies of their games will be able to snag Heaven Dust and its sequel in the Heaven Dust Collection.

Pre-orders for the Heaven Dust Collection will go live on February 2nd, with only 4000 copies being produced. Each copy of the game will include the collection on cartridge, along with interior art and a full colour manual. There will also be an exclusive sticker included with your purchase, as well as a set of three trading cards. The game will be region free, so anyone with a Switch can pick this one up and play the game.

An ode to 90s horror game series like Resident Evil, the Heaven Dust Collection takes the player through a classic survival horror experience, complete with exploration, action, puzzle-solving and resource management.

The first game takes place in 1970, where a scientific investigation team found a new virus in the blood samples from a primitive tribe called “Torkue” in New Guinea. Among some scientists, there is a belief that it will lead to the discovery of the secret of immortality, hence why they name the virus “Heaven Dust.” However, as these things go, the virus did more harm that good. After the destruction of the research facility in New Guinea following an incident involving the mutant virus, “Heaven Dust” was brought to the US. Further research is being carried out by the subsidiary company StarDust.

A standalone sequel to the first game, Heaven Dust 2 involves a virus outbreak occurring in the mysterious First Research Center after a press conference goes wrong. While the chaos unfolds, deep within the institute, Steve, one of the protagonists from the first game, wakes up from his cryogenic pod. Trapped in a living hell once again, he must fight his way out and discover the truth behind the incident.
