Underwater Terror Awaits in ‘Beneath’ From Camel 101, Coming to PlayStation, Xbox and PC [Trailer]

Published

It’s clear that we need more horror games that take place underwater. Camel 101 is adding to that list with Beneath, a first-person underwater action-horror adventure with tinges of Lovecraft and Resident Evil that’s coming to PlayStation 5, Xbox One Series and PC via Steam in 2024.

Story details have yet to be fleshed out, but the basics for Beneath see you play as veteran deep-sea diver Noah Quinn, who after discovering a complex of five underwater science stations, finds something in that complex beyond imagination. Faced with no viable escape, Quinn must take it upon himself to try and stop whatever it is that’s looking to break out and escape to the surface.

If that wasn’t enough, throughout all of this, you’ll also have to contend with Quinn’s mental state. On the brink of collapse, you’ll have to avoid succumbing to madness if you ever hope to reach the surface again.

In true Survival Horror fashion, while you’ve got a variety of weapons at your disposal in Beneath, ammo for said weapons is scarce. You’ll have to scavenge ammo, while also making every shot count. Even then, you’ll have to play it smart when it comes to encounters, as you’ll find that firepower isn’t always the solution.

Camel 101 also touts Beneath as having “adaptive enemy AI, destructible environment and customizable weapons”. You’ll also be able to take advantage of your diving suit, using it to explore the ocean floor and the underwater stations.

The wait is over for Steam users looking to stomp around Los Angeles busting zombie heads in Deep Silver and Dambuster’s Dead Island 2. The multimillion-selling follow-up to the 2011 original is now available on Steam, as well as the title’s two DLCs, including the recently-released “SoLA”. Deep Silver has marked the occasion with a new launch trailer.

In fact, Deep Silver has sweetened the deal with a 50% off sale for Dead Island 2 on Steam that’s on until April 29. That sale also applies to the title’s expansion packs and DLCs.

Just in case you missed it the first time around, Dead Island 2 centres around a deadly virus that’s spreading across Los Angeles, turning its inhabitants into ravenous zombies. The city is in quarantine and the military have retreated. Bitten, infected, but more than just immune, you learn to harness the zombie inside of you.

Known as Slayers, you (and if you choose, up to three players in co-op mode) must embark on an epic pulp journey across a plethora of well-known locations such as Beverly Hills, Venice Beach and Santa Monica to uncover the truth behind the outbreak and who or what they are turned into.

Dead Island 2 is also available on PC via the Epic Games Store, Xbox One, Xbox Series, PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5.
