“Spider’s Thread” Update Lands Today in ‘Ghostwire: Tokyo’ [Trailer]
It’s been a while, but Bethesda’s Ghostwire: Tokyo finally has some new content in the form of the Spider’s Thread update. Available now on PC, PlayStation and (finally) Xbox, the update adds multiple single-player content additions to the game, including a new game mode, added combat abilities, new side missions, enhanced Photo Mode features, and more.
The Spider’s Thread update brings with it a new rogue-lite game mode to Ghostwire: Tokyo in (what else?) “The Spider’s Thread”. The story for this new side mission sees Akito & KK exploring the new Middle School location to investigate reports of missing students, only to discover the two aren’t alone as something stalks the school’s hallways. Players will uncover the secrets behind the strange phenomena occurring in the haunted school that puts their ghost-hunting skills to the test.
Also included is “Spirits of the Modern Age”, which involves players uncovering a series of 25 strange photographs, each seemingly taken near a source of supernatural evil. Once again, Akito & KK are tasked with finding and purging these areas using their detective skills. You’ll have to use landmarks, signage and other key clues in each photograph to find and stop the evil. This side mission also takes advantage of the Reduced Psychic Effects feature in the update. When toggled on, it eliminates certain psychic effects and replaces them with SHIIBUYA♡HACHI stickers, allowing you to add some cute to your surroundings.
