Nightdive’s ‘System Shock’ Remake Out Today on PC [Trailer]
No more delays. The eight-year odyssey that was the development of the System Shock remake is over. Nightdive and publisher Prime Matter have announced today that the remake of the 1994 sci-fi cult classic is available now on PC via Steam, GOG, and the Epic Games Store. Accompanying the announcement is the customary launch trailer.
The System Shock remake combines the gameplay of the iconic original game with all-new HD visuals, updated controls, an overhauled interface, and all-new sounds and music. The remake includes never-before-seen enemies, quality-of-life gameplay tweaks, a revamped hacking system, and visceral new combat options, including a brutal dismemberment system.
Also released today is the soundtrack for the remake by Jonathan Peros. You can check it out on Peros’ Bandcamp page.
If that’s not enough, over on GOG.com, they’re offering a free System Shock Goodie pack that contains various arts and assets from the franchise.
The System Shock remake also includes a free copy of the upcoming System Shock 2: Enhanced Edition for all early buyers. Console editions of System Shock will release on PlayStation and Xbox consoles (current and previous generation) in due course. More details will be revealed in the future.
