Dark Fantasy Adventure Game ‘Bye Sweet Carole’ Receives a Disney-esque Trailer [Video]

Published

on

After showing off their upcoming dark adventure title Bye Sweet Carole a couple of times now, developer Little Sewing Machine has finally dropped a trailer for the game, which is expected for release next year. The trailer shows off the art style for Bye Sweet Carole that harkens back to the golden age of classical animation, while also displaying the game’s unique mood and atmosphere.

Created by Chris Darril, creator and director of Remothered series, Bye Sweet Carole focuses on Lana Benton. Urged by the terrifying Mr. Kyn, also known as “Old Hat,” Lana finds herself catapulted into a mysterious enchanted garden to deal with menacing and disturbing creatures. After discovering a number of letters from a certain “French,” Lana decides to follow the last known trail of Carole Simmons, a girl of the same age who apparently escaped from Bunny Hall, an orphanage in the nineteenth century. The building is now infested by colony of wild rabbits that are able to open a dimensional portal to the realm of Corolla.

Featuring a universe hand-drawn universe with the techniques from the greatest animation movies, Bye Sweet Carole will also see you using Lana’s ability to shapeshift into a rabbit and various forms to solve puzzles and overcome challenges.

Bye Sweet Carole is planned for release on the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, Xbox Series and PC via Steam.

The story that is State of Decay 3 finally appears to be nearing its conclusion. After stating earlier this year that the game was still very much in development, publisher Xbox Game Studios and developer Undead Labs have announced that the game will be launching on PlayStation 5 (which was announced during the Xbox Games Showcase), Xbox Series, and PC via Steam and Microsoft Store in 2027.

In addition to the announcement, Undead Labs revealed a brand new trailer, giving players the first-ever look at gameplay for State of Decay 3.

According to Undead Labs’ Creative Director Kevin Patzelt, the team has already had playtesters on an Alpha version of the game, who are “having a blast.” The devteam plans on expanding the Alpha and then Beta list over time for players to come play. “We’ve got an audience that’s hungry for this game, the signups were fantastic, they’re going to keep growing and we want to get more.”

To do so, players can sign up for the waitlist to participate at the State of Decay 3 Playtest website. The first wave of playtests will be limited, but the team plans on sharing insights and feedback with everyone as they go, with more opportunities to participate “throughout the year.”

Set years after a zombie apocalypse nearly wiped out humankind, in State of Decay 3, you play as a community of survivors who must carve out a life for yourselve in a world gripped by a blood plague. Build up your settlements with friends, and destroy zombies.

It’s your story, and you must make tough decisions about where to live, what to build, and who to recruit into your community. Permadeath is an ever-present danger to your community, and every risk must be weighed against the reward.
