‘Ghostrunner 2’ Slashes Into October 26 Release, Variant Editions Revealed [Trailer]

Published

Developer One More Level is going to be wading into a crowded October with Ghostrunner 2. After announcing the game’s closed beta last week, One More Level has announced that the first-person cyberpunk-action thriller will arrive on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC via the Epic Games Store on October 26. No word on if the Steam version will be released on that date.

In addition to the October release date, One More Level also announced the Brutal Edition of Ghostrunner 2, which includes 48-hour early access and other additional in-game content. Here’s the breakdown:

  • Base Edition (Digital and Physical) – Digital and physical preorders get the Traditional Katana Pack including two sword skins and two hand skins
  • Deluxe Edition (Digital) – Includes everything in the base edition, along with four additional hand skins, four extra sword skins, and a personalized hand hologram displaying their current username
  • Brutal Edition (Digital) – Includes everything in the Deluxe Edition, along with 48-hours  of early access starting October 24. Brutal Edition also comes with the Season Pass, featuring a new Game Mode and four Asset Packs, Animated Skin (Sword/Hand), and Motorcycle Skin

One More Level also released a new trailer, highlighting Jack’s action-packed fight against the violent AI cult that has assembled outside Dharma Tower, as well as some high-powered motorcycle and vehicular combat.

Set one year after the original critically acclaimed Ghostrunner when cyber ninja protagonist Jack escaped Dharma Tower, Ghostrunner 2 explores the wasteland beyond. Featuring intense fast-paced-push-forward combat and its signature challenging gameplay, the sequel ups the ante from the original by introducing the above-mentioned vehicular combat.

Action Roguelike ‘Dead Estate’ Now on PS5 and Nintendo Switch [Trailer]

Published

Released way back in 2021 onto Steam, Milkbar Lads’ gory, fast-paced, roguelike shooter Dead Estate has finally arrived on the PlayStation 5 and the Nintendo Switch, with Switch 2 compatibility. The console releases contain all of the previously-released expansions, including the entirely separate campaign inspired by classic survival horror games, “Assignment Anya”.

There isn’t much to the story of Dead Estate, which is probably for the best. All you need to know is that you’re stuck in a monster-filled mansion, from which you’ve obviously got to escape. Your only way out is to ascend the floors of the mansion with one of 10 unique characters, collect loads of items and weapons, and tackle the grueling challenges within. Along the way, you will discover secrets and the many unlockables.

And yes, there are loads of weapons and items for the game’s close-quarters combat. 150 weapons and 300 items, to be exact, making each run unique. Adding to that uniqueness are the many alternate floors and floor variants of the mansion. There are also modifiers and difficulty levels available to further maximize replayability.

And as mentioned, Dead Estate also includes a nod to Resident Evil 4 with Assignment Anya, an obvious play on Assignment: Ada. With this expansion, which is set prior to the events of the main game, you play as Anya, a fledgling actress who finds herself helplessly lost in the mansion after her film crew is attacked by the undead. Abandoned by her leading man and left alone with nothing but a mask with which to disguise herself, Anya must escape the increasingly warped and deadly estate all on her own.
