Nightdive Explores ‘The Thing: Remastered’ in New “Deep Dive” Podcast [Video]

After blowing fans away last week with the announcement of The Thing: Remastered, Nightdive Studio has taken the opportunity to launch a bi-weekly podcast called “Deep Dive” that delves into the development team and its work on remastering beloved titles. Along with some of Nightdive’s more recent releases, the first episode naturally focuses on The Thing: Remastered.

Hosted by Dimitris Giannakis (aka the Modern Vintage Gamer) with co-hosts Morgan Shaver (Nightdive’s Comms Manager) and Locke Vincent (Nightdive’s Video Producer), the first episode of Deep Dive sees the trio chat with development team working on The Thing: Remastered, and even reaches back even further and chats with Mark Atkinson, one of the original directors and programmers of Computer Artworks’ 2002 The Thing.

The Thing: Remastered is a faithful restoration of the cult-classic 2002 third-person survival horror shooter game inspired by Universal Pictures’ genre-defining 1982 film by John Carpenter. Nightdive Studios has upgraded this classic for the modern era through its proprietary KEX Engine for play on current-generation gaming devices up to a 4K resolution at 120FPS. Improvements to character models, textures, and animations have been hand-crafted by Nightdive Studios, with the implementation of advanced 3D rendering for updated lighting and atmospheric effects.

The Thing: Remastered arrives later this year on PC via Steam, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series, and the Nintendo Switch.
