While DREDGE‘s“The Iron Rig” DLC is a ways off, that’s not stopping developer Black Salt Games from cranking out more content, such as in the form of “The Pale Reach”. The newly-announced DLC for DREDGE will arrive on November 16 for $5.99, and introduces players to a new, frozen frontier.

Via PlayStation Blog, “The Pale Reach” is a pristine icy biome that brings with it new story content. You’ll have to upgrade your ship in order to make it through this frozen environment on your mission to retrace the path of a long-forgotten expedition, and discovering its ultimate fate.

Alongside the new story content, “The Pale Reach” will introduce 11 new fish and crab species (not to mention their “divergent” counterparts) as well as an additional Fish Type. You can also earn access to a new item that extends the freshness of your catch, no matter where you’re fishing.

“Doing an icy biome was something we had considered when we were first designing DREDGE, but the other biomes felt better for the story we wanted to tell and the time we had to make the game,” explains Nadia Thorne, Producer at Black Salt Games. “After launch, it became the most requested new biome from players, with the community wondering what it could be like and even creating fan art inspired by it. We’re delighted to be bringing this idea to life for players.”

DREDGE is available now on PC via Steam, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and the Nintendo Switch.
