‘Alan Wake II’ Launch Trailer Prepares Fans for the Return; New Game+ Mode Teased Post-launch [Watch]

It’s been over a decade since we first met Alan Wake, and now fans are about to return to Bright Falls with the sequel in Alan Wake II. To prepare fans, Remedy has released the launch trailer for Alan Wake II, as well as dropped some last minute news regarding the New Game+ mode, which will arrive after the game’s launch.

The trailer kicks off with a bang, as we’re greeted with the news that a string of ritualistic murders have been occurring in Bright Falls, Washington. We’re introduced to FBI Saga Anderson (voiced by Melanie Liburd), who has arrived in the town to investigate. At the same time, Alan Wake (voiced by Matthew Porretta) has his own troubles. Trapped in a nightmare beyond our world, Wake writes a dark story in an attempt to shape the reality around him and escape his prison. Anderson and Wake are two heroes on two desperate journeys in two separate realities, connected at heart in ways neither of them can understand.

To tease what’s to come for Alan Wake II, Remedy took to X yesterday with news that the game will be getting post-launch content in the form of a New Game+ mode. While the exact release of the mode is “TBD”, Remedy did reveal that the mode will allow players to retain all unlocked weapons and upgrades. As well, there will be a new Nightmare difficulty level, and a new alternative narrative, including new Manuscript pages and new video content.

Alan Wake II is due out for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC via the Epic Games Store on October 27. Keep an eye out for our review. And hey, while you wait, check out the Alan Wake: Flashback content in Fortnite.

Upcoming “Unholy Alliance” Update for ‘Cult of the Lamb’ Adds Local Co-op and More [Teaser]

Published

Cult of the Lamb players will be getting more free goodies later this summer with the Unholy Alliance update. Coming August 12, the update introduces a brand new playable character in the Goat, which coincides with the game allowing local co-op.

With the Unholy Alliance update, the entire Cult of the Lamb campaign will be playable in local co-op. Players will also be able to enjoy special 2-player versions of existing mini-games, such as Fishing and Knucklebones, as well as choose from a selection of weapons, tarot cards, curses, and corrupted relics as your cooperative crusades progress.

The Lamb and Goat can also swap weapons, deal extra damage when fighting back to back, and even deliver a critical hit when their attacks are in sync. Good news for those who prefer to stay alone in their corner: they will be able to benefit from various new powers.

In addition to the addition of cooperative play, the Unholy Alliance expansion adds several tarot cards, relics, buildings, fleeces, character traits and quests, as well as the addition of new secrets to discover.

More information on the update will be released as the launch date creeps closer. Cult of The Lamb is available now on PC via Steam, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series, and the Nintendo Switch.
