New “Inside the Fire” DLC Available Now Alongside Christmas Update for ‘Heretic’s Fork’

Three months after its release, 9FingerGames’ bullet hell strategy game Heretic’s Fork has its first DLC available now in the form of a collaboration with metal band Disturbed with “Inside the Fire”. That’s alongside a Christmas update that adds new character variants, gameplay cards and more. Plus, seeing as it’s that time of year, Heretic’s Fork is also enjoying a 20% discount until January 4th.

The DLC includes 7 exclusive character variants and 4 instrumental tracks from Disturbed’s 2007 album “Indestructible”. And like the base game, Inside the Fire also has a Steam sale discount on right now.

As for the Christmas update, Heretic’s Fork receives four new character variants, seven new cards, and new challenges. The update includes an enhanced music player loaded with new tracks from Rotting Christ, Sakis Tolis, and 12 new tracks courtesy of Running With Scissors’ POSTAL Redux. That’s on top of the updated gameplay for the Grizzy character, new character variants (unlocked via the new challenges), and various gameplay tweaks.

In case you missed it the first time, Heretic’s Fork is available now on Steam, and is a tower defense game with deckbuilding mechanics. Players are tasked with navigating through the bureaucracy of Hell as the newly appointed Hell’s Manager. That involves punishing sinners using the state-of-the-art computer system, the eponymous Heretic’s Fork, by building defense towers to hold back the swarms. You’ll be able to draw upon your deck of cards in order to effect changes to gameplay that will help you in your task.

Upcoming “Unholy Alliance” Update for ‘Cult of the Lamb’ Adds Local Co-op and More [Teaser]

Cult of the Lamb players will be getting more free goodies later this summer with the Unholy Alliance update. Coming August 12, the update introduces a brand new playable character in the Goat, which coincides with the game allowing local co-op.

With the Unholy Alliance update, the entire Cult of the Lamb campaign will be playable in local co-op. Players will also be able to enjoy special 2-player versions of existing mini-games, such as Fishing and Knucklebones, as well as choose from a selection of weapons, tarot cards, curses, and corrupted relics as your cooperative crusades progress.

The Lamb and Goat can also swap weapons, deal extra damage when fighting back to back, and even deliver a critical hit when their attacks are in sync. Good news for those who prefer to stay alone in their corner: they will be able to benefit from various new powers.

In addition to the addition of cooperative play, the Unholy Alliance expansion adds several tarot cards, relics, buildings, fleeces, character traits and quests, as well as the addition of new secrets to discover.

More information on the update will be released as the launch date creeps closer. Cult of The Lamb is available now on PC via Steam, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series, and the Nintendo Switch.
