Crossplay Is Now Available for Dark Fantasy RPG ‘Remnant II’ in Latest Update

Published

on

Gearbox Publishing and Gunfire Games have finally brought crossplay to their action RPG Remnant II. The new update is now live, giving players the opportunity to jump into co-op sessions across PC, PlayStation 5 and the Xbox Series.

“Crossplay has been one of the most player-requested features for Remnant II, and our community has been so awesome waiting patiently for this feature to roll out,” states Gunfire Games President and Remnant II Game Director David Adams. “We’re so excited to launch this update today as the team has been working hard to make it a reality.”

In addition to crossplay support, the in-game event from October of last year known as Aberration Domination has made a comeback. Until March 5, players will discover hordes of menacing Aberrations have spawned across all worlds. Those who defeat these Aberrations can collect elusive Corrupted Shards, and use these shards to craft new corrupted weapons. This limited time event brings five new corrupted versions of the following weapons: Savior, Twisted Arbalest, Sorrow, Cube Gun, and Nebula.

Remnant II is available on PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store, , PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series. The game’s first DLC pack, “The Awakened King”, is also available, with two additional packs coming later this year.

Puppet Combo Brings ‘The Glass Staircase’ to Steam, Consoles on May 24 [Trailer]

Puppet Combo are once again taking it old-school in more ways than one. Originally released in 2019 on itch.io, the developer has announced that their PS2 Survival Horror-inspired title The Glass Staircase will be headed to Steam, PlayStation, Xbox and Nintendo Switch on May 24.

Described as “a short-form old-school psychological horror game”, The Glass Staircase takes place in 1922, inside a dilapidated estate converted into an orphanage. Four girls attempt to survive long enough to complete their chores and find a new home. As these things go, unknowable horrors have punctuated the history of the house, and they’re about to learn about them the hard way.

Rather than focusing on grotesque slasher horror, The Glass Staircase is a surreal and atmospheric game, inspired by PS2 survival horror titles like Silent Hill 2 and the GameCube classic Eternal Darkness. Of course, you have to toss in those classic 80s Italian horror movies such as The Beyond, House by the Cemetery, and Suspiria.

Players will be able to customize their experience in The Glass Staircase with a selection of control styles (including the classic tank controls), graphical modes, and CRT effects. You can go for the classic lo-fi experience, or opt for something more modern.

If you’re keen on seeing what we originally thought when the game first released way back when, you can check out our impressions of the itch.io version.
