Go Behind the Scenes With John Cena as Peacemaker in ‘Mortal Kombat 1’ [Watch]

With Peacemaker making his way to Mortal Kombat 1 for all players tomorrow (those who purchased the Kombat Pack got the chance to play with him back on February 28), Warner Bros and NetherRealm have released a new behind-the-scenes video, providing an in-depth look at the upcoming antihero, as well as featuring Peacmaker actor John Cena sharing his experience in bringing his character to Mortal Kombat 1.

As expected, John Cena lends his voice and likeness to the Peacemaker, who brings a formidable moveset to Mortal Kombat 1, incorporating the character’s expert gunslinging skills, signature helmet abilities, and loyal bald eagle sidekick, Eagly. It’s all complemented by the character’s legendary dance moves and brash humor.

“Peacemaker is a character built for Mortal Kombat 1,” says Cena. “He is the definitive trash talker, he’s brash, and it’s a whole lot of attitude. To be in the Mortal Kombat 1 universe and to be up against competitors like Scorpion and Sub-Zero…I mean, I’m getting with hall-of-famers.”

In case you missed seeing Peacemaker in action (complete with his ridiculous fatality, WB Games and NetherRealm had released Peacemaker’s official gameplay trailer prior to his Early Access release. Peacemaker will be joined by Kameo fighter Janet Cage (a female version of Johnny Cage from an alternate timeline) later this month.

Mortal Kombat 1 is out now for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam and Epic Games Store.

Meanwhile, we’re still waiting on details for the second season of Peacemaker, which will air on HBO Max.

Remember back in 2022 when developer Survios had announced that they were teaming up with 20th Century Games to develop a new Alien title? Well seeing as it’s Alien Day, Survios has announced their brand-new VR title, Alien: Rogue Incursion. Coming “Holiday 2024” to the PlayStation VR2, SteamVR, and Quest 3, Rogue Incursion will feature an original story that “fully surrounds players within the terrors of the Alien universe”.

Details on the game are light at the moment, but the official site describes the upcoming title as being “designed by Alien fans for Alien fans”, with Survios aiming to craft a “technically advanced, and frightfully immersive Alien virtual reality game.”

Seeing as Alien: Isolation never got official VR support when it was released, this is obviously a welcome announcement. In the meantime, if you’re keen to experience an Alien game in VR, you can always check out the fan-made mod for Alien: Isolation by Nibre_, which allows both the Steam and Epic Games Store version of Alien: Isolation to be played using the Oculus.

And speaking of Alien: Isolation, as you might expect, it’s got a hefty 80% discount going on at the moment on Steam until May 1. So if you still haven’t grabbed it after all these years, this is as good a time as any.
