Lovecraftian Dating Sim ‘Sucker for Love: Date to Die For’ Summons Romance on April 23 [Trailer]

Looking for love? For Sucker For Love: Date to Die For fans, your date with Lovecraftian horrors is right around the corner. AkaBaka and DreadXP have announced a release date of April 23 on PC via Steam for the follow-up to the 2022 original.

Sucker For Love: Date to Die For introduces a new protagonist, new abominable love interests, new occult rituals, and a whole lot of heartache. The game centres around Stardust, an asexual woman not driven by love, but instead driven by a desire to escape the rural town overrun by fanatical cultists. After investigating mysterious disappearances in her hometown of Sacramen-Cho, Stardust ends up kidnapped and trapped deep in the creepy labyrinthian woods, equipped only with a copy of the cultist’s spellbook. She notices the instructions for summoning The Black Goat of the Woods, Rhok’zan, the casting of which sets in motion the events of a different kind of dating novel.

Sucker For Love: Date to Die For lets you explore the 360-degree hand-drawn environment in a first-person adventure game navigation style. And unlike your typical Lovecraftian horror games, this one focuses on the often neglected aspect of stories in the genre: the madmen and monsters under the thrall of the gods, rather than the eldritch gods themselves. Inspired by classics like “The Dunwich Horror” and “The Shadow over Innsmouth“, Date to Die For features four possible endings, with a nostalgic art style reminiscent of old-school anime and classic dating sims.

If you’re keen on checking out the game ahead of its release date, the demo for Date to Die For is still up on the Steam page.

Upcoming “Unholy Alliance” Update for ‘Cult of the Lamb’ Adds Local Co-op and More [Teaser]

Published

Cult of the Lamb players will be getting more free goodies later this summer with the Unholy Alliance update. Coming August 12, the update introduces a brand new playable character in the Goat, which coincides with the game allowing local co-op.

With the Unholy Alliance update, the entire Cult of the Lamb campaign will be playable in local co-op. Players will also be able to enjoy special 2-player versions of existing mini-games, such as Fishing and Knucklebones, as well as choose from a selection of weapons, tarot cards, curses, and corrupted relics as your cooperative crusades progress.

The Lamb and Goat can also swap weapons, deal extra damage when fighting back to back, and even deliver a critical hit when their attacks are in sync. Good news for those who prefer to stay alone in their corner: they will be able to benefit from various new powers.

In addition to the addition of cooperative play, the Unholy Alliance expansion adds several tarot cards, relics, buildings, fleeces, character traits and quests, as well as the addition of new secrets to discover.

More information on the update will be released as the launch date creeps closer. Cult of The Lamb is available now on PC via Steam, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series, and the Nintendo Switch.
