‘Castlevania’ Enters ‘Dead by Daylight’ on August 27 [Trailer]
Earlier with the Dead by Daylight crossover announcement with Five Nights at Freddy’s, we speculated on when we’d hear more about Behaviour Interactive’s collaboration with Konami for the Castlevania crossover announced back in May. Well, that didn’t take long, as the Castlevania crossover will be arriving later this month in Dead by Daylight on August 27. Currently, the DLC is being tested in the Public Test Build on Steam.
The Castlevania crossover brings Dracula (naturally) alongside Trevor Belmont as the new Killer and Survivor, respectively. As a neat touch, any time Dracula is the featured Killer in a Trial with an original map, players will see Dracula’s castle looming over the horizon.
While details on Dracula’s abilities are still to come, his vampiric abilities will be on display. In addition to his ability to conjure flames, Dracula is able to morph into a Bat to cover ground more quickly. As a Wolf, Dracula can track Survivors.
“We wanted to create a fluidity in the way players can have Dracula change between his different forms and have it feel seamless,” shares Dead by Daylight Creative Director, Dave Richard. “When I first played Symphony of the Night – which is one of my favorite games of all time – having vampiric powers like these was absolutely amazing. Being able to put players in the shoes of The Dark Lord in Dead by Daylight was an alluring and unique opportunity for us.”

Meanwhile, Trevor’s abilities feature the Eyes of Belmont, which are “acclimated to the presence of evil.” Exultation allow Trevor to “stand against pursuers with item in hand and take the fight to them,” while the Moment of Glory is reserved for when your metaphorical back is against the wall.
