New “Doomed Course” Chapter for ‘Dead by Daylight’ Arrives November 28

Published

With the annual Haunted by Daylight event winding down today, Behaviour Interactive have announced the next Chapter for Dead by Daylight with Doomed Course, available today via the Steam public test build, and officially releasing on November 28. Doomed Course introduces The Houndmaster as a new Killer with her AI-controlled companion, and Taurie Cain as the new Survivor to The Fog.

Also known as Portia Maye, The Houndmaster “stands as one of the most unique and tragic characters to enter the Dead by Daylight universe.” Beginning life as a curious, kind-hearted girl, Portia’s mind was shattered when she was forced to witness the brutal torture and murder of her father at the hands of pirates in the 19th century. Consumed by her hatred, she grew up alone on the mysterious Dragon’s Tooth Island in the Bermuda Triangle, devoting her life to inflicting pain on those responsible. The only remaining tie to her humanity – the bond she shares with her hulking dog Snug, a gift from her father, who aids her in the hunt.

As Dead by Daylight’s first AI-controlled animal companion, Snug will serve to help Portia chase, track, and grip fleeing Survivors so she can finish the job. Players will have access to 2 distinct commands for Snug: Chase and Search. The Chase command sends Snug charging forward with the option to redirect him for additional control. If Snug catches a Survivor, he will drag them back towards The Houndmaster. The Search command additionally creates a Houndsense radius which widens as Snug moves, sniffing out and revealing any Survivor caught within its reach.

Meanwhile, Taurie Cain was born and raised in the Black Talon cabal, a clandestine cult dedicated to understanding and worshipping The Entity. Taurie lost her mother and brother exploring a Bleed – an overlap between our world and The Entity’s Realm. Taurie returned from the Bleed, her heart touched by darkness, more certain than ever that her destiny lay in serving The Entity. However, when The Fog finally came to take her, she discovered that her service would not come as a Killer… but a Survivor.

Moon Studios dropped a new trailer during the Sony State of Play for their dark action-RPG No Rest for the Wicked, while also hinting at the long-awaited launch window for the full 1.0 release. The game, which has been in Early Access on Steam since April 2024, will be launching this October in full for PlayStation 5 and PC via Steam, while versions for the  Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch 2 will arrive at a later date.

As a token of appreciation for supporters new and old, Moon Studios is offering an exclusive Early Access Founder’s Pack, a free limited edition bundle available for anyone who purchases the game on Steam prior to July 10, with rewards unlocking when 1.0 officially launches. PlayStation 5 users can receive the Early Access Founder’s Pack by pre-ordering the game once available, any time before launch day.

The Founder’s Pack includes:

  • A New Secret Hideout: Spirit Cavern – The legacy of Moon Studios now lives inside No Rest for the Wicked, exclusively for Founders. A hand-crafted home that bridges both worlds.
  • Sayer’s Vow: An all new Sword in the stone reserved just for the founders that only early adopters can extract in the game world.
  • A Custom Founders Tag ensures players are clearly identified as early adopters.
  • As a Founder member, players will get access to an exclusive Public Beta Test Realm reserved just for them, even after the 1.0 game launch.

As for the full 1.0 release, it will be a massive expansion of the core experience, introducing a staggering 60+ hours of new content, a new horde mode, powerful new weapons, bosses and enemies, new areas and a completely reimagined class system.

In No Rest for the Wicked, players take on the role of a “Cerim,” a member of a holy order imbued with mysterious powers, tasked with destroying the Pestilence, an ancient plague that has begun to consume the island Isola Sacra, itself already the site of great political upheaval and death.
