‘The Thaumaturge’ Hits PlayStation, Xbox on December 4th [Trailer]

After releasing onto PC way back in March, Fool’s Theory has announced that their character-driven dark fantasy RPG The Thaumaturge will arrive December 4 digitally on PlayStation 5 and the Xbox Series. A demo is available on both consoles for those “try before you buy” people.

For those that need the refresher, The Thaumaturge takes place in 1905 Warsaw, with players assuming the role of Wiktor Szulski, who is drawn back to Warsaw by family matters. Wiktor also happens to have the gift of thaumaturgy. This turns out to be vital, as only a thaumaturge can tame the demonic entities known as Salutors, which feed on human flaws, but can also gift those who tame the Salutors with unique powers. It’s up to Wiktor to uncover these Salutors and free his people from their grip.

Drawing inspiration from Slavic folklore, your Salutors feature psychic strikes and manipulation, along with a wide array of upgrades that transform Wiktor’s skills in combat into an engaging dance of strength and strategy. You must influence and manipulate characters, carving your path in this world. You’ll also have to exercise caution, as each decision you’re faced with holds consequences that either restrain or feed your inner flaws such as pride, vehemence, or scheming.
