If you haven’t hopped into the Resident Evil-inspired WWI survival horror title Conscript from Catchweight Studio since its release last year, publisher Team 17 Digital has announced a new Director’s Cut version that’s now available. The update brings several quality-of-life features and challenges, as well as new items, abilities, and a new Hardcore Mode. Existing owners will be given the upgrade for free.
Along with new achievements for you completionists, Conscript: Director’s Cut features the following:
- Shellshock difficulty – Brutal new mode with stronger enemies and scarcer resources.
- Hardcore (permadeath) mode – Optional permadeath for true high-stakes runs.
- Move while shooting – Move whilst shooting or keep the ‘stand and shoot’ style from classic survival horror.
- Extra rooms & shortcuts – Level design changes to improve pacing and aid seamless exploration.
- New items & unlockables – 14 new items and upgrades to unlock – including map markers and extra inventory slots.
- Quality of life improvements – Infinite stamina while not in combat, smoother resource management and more!
- Accessibility features – Additional visual aids and control options.
Conscript: Director’s Cut is available now at 66% off on Steam until January 5th. No word yet on if the Director’s Cut will be making its way to consoles. And in case you need a reminder of just how good Conscript is, check out Aaron’s review of the original game.
