Little Sewing Machine’s dark fantasy adventure title Bye Sweet Carole may not have been given the nod when it came to the gaming awards season, but the devteam’s work definitely didn’t go unnoticed. The game has been selected for the 53rd Annie Awards Nominations in the “Outstanding Achievement for Character Animation in a Video Game” category, alongside Death Stranding 2: On the Beach and South of Midnight.
As a result, Bye Sweet Carole becomes the first Italian video game in history to be nominated for the Annie Awards. This is on top of the game winning Best Art Direction at the Spooky Game Awards, and Best Animation at the Hong Kong Lights Film Festival.
Obviously, Little Sewing Machine plans on building upon their success with the game, and has planned to release an artbook later this year showcasing the game’s art.
Developed entirely using the classic techniques of traditional 1990s Disney animation and Don Bluth‘s masterpieces, Bye Sweet Carole transports players into a hauntingly beautiful realm where dark fairy tales and nightmarish realities intertwine. Players will follow the story of Lana Benton, a courageous young girl on a desperate search for her missing friend, Carole, in the ominous Bunny Hall orphanage.
