Besides revealing Layers of Fear 3, Bloober Team had the time to drop a new update for Cronos: The New Dawn that introduces the Temporal Diver mode. Essentially the game’s easy mode, the update is “designed for players who want to discover the mysteries of the game’s intricate time travel story and experience its survival horror mechanics with less demanding combat.”
As a result of the addition, the difficulty modes for Cronos have undergone a name change. “Anvil of the Collective” is standard difficulty, while the Forged in Fire mode, which unlocks after completing Anvil of the Collective difficulty, is the game’s hard mode.
“Mildly” different from the existing game mode, the story with its all elements remains the same in Temporal Diver mode, with main changes happening to enemy and Traveler health. In the Temporal Diver mode, enemy health will be halved while the Traveler’s health will be doubled. This will provide plenty of opportunities for a little smoother progression for those whose gameplay style is more story-orientated rather than diehard action.
That’s not to say this mode is a cakewalk, as the fast-paced action and all the elements of the game remain in place, only the health will be adjusted in this mode.

That’s not all players are getting, as Bloober is joining in the celebration of the Lunar New Year with a free brand-new skin: the Iron Rider Traveler with its flaming horse-inspired design. Still not enough? For those who haven’t taken the plunge, you can grab Cronos: The New Dawn on all platforms with a 30% discount from now until February 26th.
In addition to Steam and the Epic Games Store, Cronos: The New Dawn is also available on the PlayStation 5, the Xbox Series, and the Nintendo Switch 2.
