Will McPhie‘s HEADWINDS (the folks behind the alien abduction title Lights In The Sky) has been working over the past year on some atmospheric, slow-burn goodness for gamers with The Lighthouse Whispers. Coming to Steam, the game draws inspiration from Robert Eggers‘ The Lighthouse, Kristoffer Nyholm‘s The Vanishing, as well as “many other real life stories surrounding strange lighthouse happenings and mysteries throughout history.”
The story for The Lighthouse Whispers takes place over the course of one dark and stormy night. You play a lightkeeper traversing an eerie island off the coast of Scotland, searching for your fellow lightkeepers who have gone missing, with your ultimate goal being the lighthouse itself. Along the way, you’ll uncover dark mysteries of the past. Apparently, isolation, battering storms, and starvation are not the only things to fear while on your stint as a lightkeeper on this island…
