‘The 7th Guest Remake’ Announced, Coming Later This Year to PC and Consoles [Trailer]

Published

on

Publisher Vertigo Games and developer Exkee are giving the classic FMV horror title The 7th Guest a revamp, announcing a remake of the 1993 original. Coming later this year to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store, the remake will use “cutting-edge, newly recorded volumetric video” for its live-action performances.

For those that never played the original, the story concerns six guests who have been welcomed to the foreboding Stauf Mansion, but something sinister is at play. The wealthy recluse and toymaker Henry Stauf lurks in the shadows, and a dark power hangs over the house, shrouded in mystery. Who is the seventh guest? What does Henry want with them? And who will live to tell the tale?

Unlike the mostly-static visuals of the original, the remake’s mansion comes alive with high-end visuals and carefully redesigned, all-new handcrafted puzzles. Every puzzle is woven into the story and rooted in the mansion’s lore, with recognizable elements that pay homage to the original game.

The haunted mansion shifts and transforms around you through high-end visuals and clever optical illusions. You’ll need to investigate every creepy nook and cranny. Unlock new rooms, uncover hidden secrets, and keep your wits about you.
