Lies of P continues to pay dividends for publisher NEOWIZ and developer Round8 Studio. Bolstered by the release of the DLC “Overture” last June, the souls-like has now sold over four million copies worldwide across PC and consoles since its launch back in 2023.
“Reaching this milestone is an incredibly meaningful moment for the Lies of P team,” said a NEOWIZ Representative in a press release. “The enthusiasm and passion the global community has shown for this title continues to inspire us, and we’re grateful to see players around the world discover and embrace our dark, reimagined take on Pinocchio’s story.”
Launched in September 2023, Lies of P is a single-player action RPG in the souls-like genre inspired by the story of Pinocchio. Set in the dark, Belle Époque-inspired city of Krat, the once-beautiful city has become a living nightmare, as deadly puppets run amok and a plague sweeps the land. You play as P, a puppet who must fight his way through the city on his unrelenting journey to find Geppetto and finally become human.
Lies of P: Overture, released in June 2025, is the prequel that transports players back to the city of Krat in its final days. Discover previously unseen locations, ranging from beautiful Belle Époque mansions to haunting ruins of a city on the brink of collapse, as well as some of the city’s surrounding areas. As players untangle Krat’s past, they’ll unlock brand new weapons and Legion Arms to create unique combat styles and dispatch cunning, ruthless foes.
Meanwhile, we’re still waiting to hear what Round8 Studio has up its sleeve for its next project, which was described as a new survival horror IP, which will be developed for console and PC.
Lies of P is available on PC via Steam, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One and the Xbox Series.
