Bloober Team Reveals Work on Seven Horror Titles as Part of Leadership Expansion

Published

on

Already at work on the Silent Hill remake and the recently-announced Layers of Fear 3, Bloober Team recently announced that it has expanded its leadership. In doing so, the developer has announced that it’s moving to a multi-project structure, which also happens to include five more horror titles that are currently in co-development.

Per GamesIndustry.biz, the new appointments at Bloober are Thaine Lyman as head of studio, Katya Baukova as director of business development, and Michał Gembicki as head of publishing.

With the new executive team in place, Bloober Team CEO Piotr Babieno says that the developer will continue to operate with two “first-party” production teams working on the studio’s major releases. The two “first-party” teams are working on what Babieno describes as “what defines Bloober Team: single-player horror experiences with strong gameplay foundations, premium execution, and themes that resonate on a deeper emotional or social level.”

“We don’t want fewer than two productions, because relying on a single title creates too much risk in today’s market,” says Babieno. “But we also don’t want more, because quality, focus, and creative oversight would inevitably suffer. For us, two core productions are the right balance between ambition and responsibility.”

To run down what’s known so far, in addition to Silent Hill and Layers of Fear 3, Bloober Team and their co-development label, Broken Mirror Games, are also at work on the Nintendo-exclusive Project M for the Nintendo Switch and Switch 2. There’s also Project H, which is currently being worked on by the team behind Cronos: The New Dawn, which has been described as “the most ambitious project this team has ever undertaken, with the greatest commercial potential of any of their titles.”

LKA Delves Deeper Into the Horror of ‘When Sirens Fall Silent’ in New Presentation [Video]

During the Day of the Devs: Summer Game Fest Edition, publisher Wired Productions and developer LKA released a three-minute developer presentation for psychological horror game When Sirens Fall Silent, offering players a deeper look into the mystery, characters, and unsettling world of the upcoming psychological thriller.

Following two creative story-based cinematic reveals (which you can watch here and here) that introduced the game’s atmosphere, themes, and central mystery, LKA Founder and Director Luca Dalcò guides viewers further into the world of the forgotten people, revealing more of what awaits players as they uncover the truth behind a series of kidnappings and murders.

From the creators of Martha is Dead, When Sirens Fall Silent casts players as Mila, a policewoman in early 1990s Rome, Italy. Haunted by a past she’s desperate to escape, Mila is thrust into a high-profile case of kidnappings and murders. As the investigation unravels, you must not only save her from herself, but also from being consumed by the violence, mystery and confusion.

Featuring a branching, multi-layered narrative dialogue system, with a huge focus on verbal and emotional interaction, investigation and subsequent choices, players will be faced with difficult real-world topics. LKA aims to “pull no punches” with its story, but also hints at a few surprises along the way.

When Sirens Fall Silent is currently in development for PC via Steam, GOG, and the Epic Games Store.
