As the announcement states, there’s no early access and no waiting for the full release of Dark Pals: The 1st Floor. Skunx Games has announced that the first-person mascot horror puzzle adventure will launch on May 1. You can get a taste of what’s to come with the demo that’s currently available on Steam.
The brainchild of Winston van Graafeiland, creator of the Horror Skunx YouTube channel, Dark Pals: The 1st Floor tasks players with exploring its eerie halls, solving environmental puzzles, and uncovering what truly happened within its walls. The facility is now home to disturbing mascot-like creatures that lurk just out of sight.
Luckily, you’re not alone in this endeavour. You’re accompanied by Inky the Ink Blaster, a mysterious companion manifested through an ink-shooting toy gun. By solving puzzles and unlocking new areas, players slowly piece together the asylum’s past and the origins of the creatures that inhabit it.
The game is designed as a transmedia horror experience. Additional story elements and hidden lore will be revealed through a dedicated series of videos starring Winston uploaded to the Horror Skunx YouTube channel. YouTuber Chazington appears in-game through video projections scattered throughout the asylum, guiding players along their journey.
