If you were ever wanting to mash up old-school survival horror gameplay with the Wild West, RetroGig looks to have what you crave with their upcoming fixed-camera horror western game, God Help Us All. Coming to Steam, the game recently made an appearance at the Mad Games Show 2026 with the first-ever public demo.
The story for God Help Us All centres around a mysterious sickness that has spread through the lands of the town of Los Cuervos, turning the locals into something monstrous. It’s up to you to uncover the truth before it’s too late.
Sticking to the genre tropes, the game has you making your way through the town and its surrounding areas with limited resources and that classic fixed-camera perspective to keep you on edge. God Help Us All takes it one step further by having pre-rendered backgrounds to bring its gritty and unsettling world to life.
And as expected, you’ll be having to solve puzzles here and there in order to advance, which also examining various points of interest in order to glean more of what’s just gone on in the town.
You’re also obviously not completely defenseless in this town. You’ll have access to guns, which you can use parts to upgrade and improve in order to attempt to even the odds. Mixing things up is the game’s unique dual-stick shooting system, which is designed to bring “precision and modern fluidity” to the game’s tension.
No word on if we’ll be seeing a public demo for the game just yet. The team is currently looking for a publisher and investment opportunities to get God Help Us All to the finish line “with the polish it deserves.”
