Emberflight Games’ bodycam horror title It Reaches has nailed down a May 18 release date for Steam, PlayStation 5 and the Xbox Series. If you’re wanting to check it out ahead of next month’s launch, you can pop over to the game’s Steam page for the demo.
Announced this past February during the Perp Games Horror Showcase, It Reaches casts players as officer Jason Thompson. What should have been a routine police operation quickly escalates into something far darker. Trapped within the walls of an abandoned hospital and its claustrophobic underground, you are not alone. Something is hunting you, and it’s relentless in its pursuit.
Obviously, you need to find your way out. Experienced from Thompson’s body camera, you must survey your surroundings, search for clues and piece together the truth hidden within the hospital’s murky hallways.
Your pursuer is seemingly everywhere, and you’ll need to stay unseen to avoid being caught. To avoid giving away your position, you must manually hold your breath whenever the entity passes. Hold it too long, however, and you’ll run out of air, forcing out a gasp that gives you away.
Resources are limited, but when confrontation is unavoidable, you’ll need to use your weapons smartly along with your surroundings in order to survive. The entity isn’t your only concern, as you’ll also need to deal with the traps and environmental puzzles that demand precision and awareness.
