Saber Interactive has dropped some new gameplay footage for Clive Barker’s Hellraiser: Revival , offering up a glimpse of the gameplay mechanics and environments, including combat and puzzle-solving, culminating in a boss encounter with a fellow that bears a resemblance to Frank Cotton, but is definitely not here for Kirsty.
In addition to your basic handgun, we also get a glimpse at the power of the Genesis configuration, which you’ll be using to dispatch foes in a variety of ways.
In Clive Barker’s Hellraiser: Revival, players take on the role of Aidan, who must unlock the dark powers of a mysterious puzzle box known as the Genesis Configuration in order to help his girlfriend from a hellish abyss. As Aidan, you’ll harness the box’s infernal abilities to survive your pact with the sinister Pinhead and battle against the Scarlet Church, a cult that wishes to establish contact with the Cenobites and seeks to use the mysterious Genesis Configuration puzzle box to create a debauched paradise for themselves.
The Cenobites and the Scarlet Church aren’t your only adversaries. You also face the Unworthy, once-human wretches who sought after the ultimate experiences of sensation but were denied by Leviathan, ruler of the otherworldly Labyrinth. These rejects of Hell, monsters who think and behave differently from the cultists of the Church, are drawn to the Genesis Configuration as a potential path to redemption.
Clive Barker’s Hellraiser: Revival launches October 8 for PC via Steam, PlayStation 5 and the Xbox Series.
