‘Bloodstained: The Scarlet Engagement’ Pushed to 2027 [Video]

Artplay and 505 Games have announced that their follow-up to Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night in Bloodstained: The Scarlet Engagement has been pushed to a 2027 release. This comes after the game was announced back in June 2025 for a release this year.

The man himself, Koji Igarashi, dropped the news in an update video, stating that while the game has entered its “final stages” of development, the teams agreed to push the release to next year. “We understand that this is disappointing news for our fans, but everyone on the development team is working hard to make the game the best it can be. We truly appreciate your continued support.”

Igarashi also stated that the devteam aims to release gameplay footage for The Scarlet Engagement in the near future.

Set in the 16th century, the Ethereal Castle and its demonic inhabitants led by the Demon Lord Elias have been terrorizing the land, laying waste to all who defy their dark power. All attempts to destroy the castle and fight the demons have failed, leaving many noble warriors defeated and lost. The last hope of humanity is an unlikely duo: Leonard, a young Black Wolves apprentice, and Alexander, a knight and the last survivor of White Stags. Together they must work as one to infiltrate the castle, fight for survival, acquire powerful artifacts and defeat the Demon Lord Elias.

Bloodstained: The Scarlet Engagement is currently in development for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series and PC via Steam.
