Atlantis Studio has announced that pre-orders are now open on the Nintendo eShop for their upcoming two-player asymmetric co-op horror game, Beyond the Dark: Nightwatch. Ahead of the game’s launch on October 22 for the Nintendo Switch 2, the studio has released a new trailer that offers the clearest look yet at the Gloam, the mysterious entity haunting Beyond the Dark: Nightwatch.
Atlantis Studio collaborated with Kyoto-based Q-Games, the studio behind the Cloudly technology, whose team contributed its animation expertise to bring the Gloam’s unsettling presence to life. The trailer also offers a closer look at the game’s distinctive two-player asymmetric horror experience, built around communication, observation and trust.
Beyond the Dark: Nightwatch is a two-player shared horror experience built around asymmetrical collaboration. Communication is the only thing standing between survival and darkness. One player wakes up alone inside a strange house, haunted by what’s known as the Gloam lurking in the shadows. Meanwhile, the second player must guide, interpret, and coordinate the first player’s actions from a network of cameras.
Separated by perspective but bound by a shared objective, both players must talk, strategize, and react in real time to the horrors around them. You’ll need to combine information from completely the network of cameras in order to understand the house, solve its mysteries, and escape. The cooperative horror experience turns communication into both your greatest strength and your biggest risk. Clear instructions can save you. Misunderstandings can doom you.
