Bloody-Disgusting has teamed up with Florida electronic artist Skag Boy to bring you the exclusive music video premiere of “Free (Us)”. The video is a nightmarish hallucinogenic trip that plays out like some twisted phantasmagoria and is supposed to represent the horrors of insomnia.
“Free (Us)” comes from Skag Boy’s upcoming album Boy Blue, which you can pre-order via Bandcamp.

Skag Boy’s music is really unnerving and haunting, I wanted to make a video for him that felt the same way. This is my first attempt at mixed media stop motion kind of stuff. I wanted it to be kind of cartoony because the song reminded me of being a child and never being able to fall asleep but being terrified to stay away, the tricks your eyes start playing on you. Stop motion always feels inherently playful and childish, but it can also be horrific and frightening, just like being a kid and misunderstanding everything you see.
