The Halloween theme is perhaps one of the most famous movie cues to ever grace the ears of audiences. It has been mocked in TV shows, it is used as a ringtone, it’s used in commercials, etc… It’s become so iconic that people who have never seen the film know where the music is from.
It’s because of how popular and well known this theme is that I enjoy someone who takes it and gives it a twist, even if it’s a minor one.
Enter Matt Haag, a YouTuber who filmed himself recording the theme in one take but adding his own little embellishments and flairs to give it a little extra depth. What it loses in sinister terror it makes up in creativity and pure joyful glee that you see in Haag as he performs.
