My buddy sent me a really fun – and sad – homemade documentary that details how New Line Cinema destroyed the Friday the 13th franchise.
The 37-min doc uses old interview footage to show how the franchise digressed from Jason Takes Manhattan to Jason X and even Freddy vs Jason. It also shares shocking interview quotes from franchise creator Sean Cunningham who allegedly never saw the sequels, and only made new ones to get into bed with New Line (I wish there were denotations shared below the video).
I don’t necessarily agree with everything, but, either way, it’s actually a breath of fresh air to see a doc that shows the dark side of the franchise, instead of celebrating garbage like Jason Goes to Hell.
