Video Clip From ‘Poltergeist’ Flashes a Light On the Possessed Clown!

Poltergeist

With the teaser trailer arriving sometime today, Bloody Disgusting has landed a small clip that gives us a taste of the clown moment from the Gil Keenan-directed Poltergeist, haunting theaters on July 24, 2015.

The clown, as teased yesterday in the first images, looks pretty cool, but I really hope they didn’t lose the moment where Robbie, Carol Anne’s brother, looks under the bed in the 1982 original. Frankly, I would like to see the filmmakers do their own thing, but only if it’s “better than.” Thankfully, Sam Raimi is a producer, which makes this all the more exciting.

Sam Rockwell, Rosemarie DeWitt, Saxon Sharbino and Jane Adams star.

Legendary filmmaker Sam Raimi (producer) reimagines and contemporizes the classic tale about a family whose suburban home is invaded by angry spirits. When the terrifying apparitions escalate their attacks and take the youngest daughter, the family must come together to rescue her.

To be released in 3-D, Jared Harris will play Carrigan, a larger than life TV personality who left the world of academia behind to become the star host of basic cable TV show “Haunted House Cleaners.”

Poltergeist has been rated PG-13 for “intense frightening sequences, brief suggestive material, and some language.”

Do you think the new clown is scarier than the one in Tobe Hooper’s original?
