WORLD OF DEATH Ep. 41 – Maid / We Need To Talk

Published

on

Happy New Fear, WOD Watchers!
Here we are with our first World of Death installment of 2017 and we are back with a bang!  Our resolution for the new year is to try even harder to scare the piss out of you.  We want to expand the brand and make WOD a household horror name.  We want to continue to showcase independent filmmaking and display the hard work that all of you aspiring Wes Cravens put into your craft every year.  Let’s take 2017 by storm and show 2016 that we are ALL the final girls!
Today’s episode delves into human relations and the power of companionship.  If you like blood and sex (and we’re assuming you do) then you’ll enjoy these two venomous vignettes.
Leading off, we have Maid, directed by Rosco Guerrero & Christopher Dodge.  Driven by stellar camerawork and great practical effects, this story begins at the end of a date between an older gentleman and his lady of the night.  Through some of the strained dialogue and thick sound design, you learn of his loneliness, thirst for companionship, and affinity for blood.  Like a deleted scene straight from American Horror Story: Hotel, this one will turn you into a fly on the wall in a tension-filled room.
Batting clean-up, we present to you We Need to Talk, directed by Craig Ouellette.  Featuring two leading ladies giving Scout Taylor-Compton a run for her money, the title of this one represents those four little words we all hate hearing from our significant other.  We all know it always ends up leading to some kind of big reveal… *wink*.  What starts out as a romantic rendezvous for two lovers, turns into something much, much more.
– Dominick DeLuca

Anna Faris & Regina Hall Promise ‘Scary Movie’ Will “Offend Everyone;” New Images Revealed

Published

The Wayans are out to cancel the Cancel Culture with Scary Movie, and the cast assures it will do just that.

“They sort of have an across-the-board style,” Anna Faris tells EW. “It’s always been a part of the Wayans Brothers, their electricity. ‘Can we offend you? Will you still love us? Come on, you still love us, don’t you?'”

Regina Hall concurs, promising the “boundary-pushing” sixth installment in the horror parody franchise will “offend everyone.”

EW has shared a batch of behind-the-scenes images from Scary Movie, which hits theaters June 5 via Paramount.

Faris and Hall are joined by fellow franchise favorites Marlon Wayans, Shawn Wayans, Dave Sheridan, Lochlyn Munro, Cheri Oteri, Chris Elliott, and Jon Abrahams in the legacy sequel.

The ensemble includes Damon Wayans Jr., Gregg Wayans, Kim Wayans, Benny Zielke, Cameron Scott Roberts, Heidi Gardner, Olivia Rose Keegan, Ruby Snowber, Savannah Lee Nassif, Sydney Park, Kenan Thompson, and Felissa Rose.

Michael Tiddes (A Haunted House) directs from a script by Marlon Wayans, Shawn Wayans, original Scary Movie director Keenen Ivory Wayans, Craig Wayans (Scary Movie 2), and Rick Alvarez (A Haunted House).

The film will slash through reboots, remakes, requels, prequels, sequels, spin-offs, elevated horror, origin stories, anything with the word legacy in it, and everyfinal chapterthat absolutely isn’t final.

Scary Movie launched in 2000, followed by Scary Movie 2 in 2001. The Wayans’ involvement ended there, but the series continued with 2003’s Scary Movie 3, 2006’s Scary Movie 4, and 2013’s Scary Movie 5.
