Someone Replaced “Wonder Years” Narration With ’80s Horror Synth

The Wonder… Fears?

It has always amazed me how much music can completely change the feel of a scene in a movie or TV show. A good score or song selection can make a scene iconic, while a bad musical choice can completely remove you from the moment.

But what about a just plain weird choice? Well, TV writer/producer Jon Friedman just totally changed the feel of “The Wonder Years” by replacing adult Kevin Arnold’s voice-over narration in a select scene with… ’80s horror synth tunes?!

Yeah, it doesn’t get much weirder than this.

In the scene, Kevin is being questioned about an incident at school by his mother and the principal. Instead of Daniel Stern’s narration giving us some insight into what Kevin was thinking at the time, the totally out of place synth score adds a sinister feel to the proceedings. It’s a conversation about an apple, but it might as well be about a schoolyard massacre.

This is what the internet was made for, folks.
