Fun Animated Videos Highlight the Evolution of Horror Icons

Published

on

For better or worse, our favorite franchise villains evolved a whole lot over the years. Jason Voorhees went from a misshapen boy to a metallic space monster, while Michael Myers went from a normal-sized creep to a bearded hobo in a pro wrestler’s body.

Watching that evolution is always fascinating, and YouTube channel Tell It Animated recently began chronicling the progression of the genre’s most iconic villains with a series of fun animated videos that run through all the different looks of guys like Jay and Mike.

The videos, written/designed/animated by Aaron Lecours, also serve as quick and to-the-point rundowns of franchise storylines, brushing you up in mere minutes.

Enjoy. And let the channel know which icon you want to see next!

With Stormind Games still working away on Remothered: Red Nun’s Legacy, the developer is reaching back to the first two entries in the series and giving them a facelift. Rebuilt in Unreal Engine 5, Remothered: Tormented Fathers Remastered and Remothered: Broken Porcelain Remastered are currently being developed for the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC via Steam, the Epic Games Store, GOG, and the Microsoft Store.

The remastered editions of both games will introduce major visual and technical improvements while preserving the original gameplay, atmosphere, balance, and identity. According to the developers, the goal of the project is to preserve the essence of the original games while delivering a technical presentation that meets the expectations of today’s players.

Specifically, the remastered editions will feature:

  • Richer, more detailed environments with 4K textures and Nanite technology
  • Enhanced character models
  • Redesigned user interface and menus
  • Updated cinematic sequences built to modern production standards
  • Fixes for legacy bugs found in the original releases
  • Overall improvements to stability and gameplay quality
