Surprisingly, 1993’s Demolition Man had a pretty strong presence at San Diego Comic Con this year, with Taco Bell celebrating the 25th anniversary by faithfully recreating the 2032-set film’s futuristic Taco Bell for an epic popup experience.
As you may recall, Sandra Bullock explains to Sylvester Stallone in the sci-fi/action film that Taco Bell was the only restaurant to survive the “franchise wars,” meaning that literally every restaurant in the film’s future world is, well, Taco Bell. A memorable scene from the film takes place inside a Taco Bell of the future.
If you weren’t able to attend, you can virtually pay the 2032 Taco Bell a visit thanks to this walkthrough video from YouTube channel Brandon and Joyce, filmed at Comic Con over the weekend. The video shows off everything there was to see inside the fully operational recreation of the film’s Taco Bell, including menu items, memorabilia and even a robot server!
On a related note, Taco Bell released a new commercial for the rebirth of their Nacho Fries, which doubles as a Demolition Man prequel that documents the so-called “Franchise Wars”!
