Bridging the gap between Jurassic World and Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, director Nic Cornett’s brand new fan film Jurassic World: Exodus takes place between the events of the two films, before the volcano exploded and destroyed Isla Nublar. The 25-minute, fan-made short film is now up for viewing in its entirety, and it’s definitely worth a watch.
The team (primarily comprised of actual U.S. veterans) even brought dinosaurs back to life for the short, using a blend of CGI and brief practical work (seen above). Mind you, the computer generated dinosaurs are Syfy-level in quality, but the effort is admirable all the same.
“With only five days in Hawaii on a shoe string budget, our vision for Jurassic World Exodus came to life,” said the team. “It wouldn’t have been possible without the dedication, passion and long hours from the entire crew, locals and supporters.”
