Every great werewolf movie has a great transformation scene within it, whether we’re talking The Howling, An American Werewolf in London or more recently, Late Phases. Rick Baker’s transformation sequence in American Werewolf, in particular, is one of the best practical effects moments of all time, but it’s one of the *worst* that’s currently going viral.
Several accounts have had viral success in the past week by sharing a particularly humorous clip from an obscure 1987 movie from Thailand called Werewolf, spotlighting what simply has to be the best/worst werewolf transformation in the history of film. Across Facebook and Twitter, the video has racked up MILLIONS of views, and it’s pretty goddamn magical.
Sommai Khamsorn directed Werewolf (มนุษย์หมาป่า), which stars Sorapong Chatree. As far as we can tell, it was @Foywonder who first called the internet’s attention to its glory.
