[Video] SFX Artist Turns Herself into the Grand High Witch from ‘The Witches’!

We’ve highlighted Berlin professional make-up and SFX artist Julia Wunderlich here on Bloody Disgusting before (you have to see this!), but her latest work is nothing short of spectacular.

Wunderlich, of Metamorphosia FX, shares this astounding prosthetic that’s inspired by Nicolas Roeg’s The Witches (1990) in which the Grand High Witch (played by Angelica Houston) shows her true “witch” form.

Who remembers her? The grand high witch! One of my favourite witch make-ups ever and one of the best EVER! I loved this movie as a child and celebrated the moment over and over when Miss Ernst took off her wig and mask to reveal her true beauty. What a great make-up, so beautiful and finally I can be her whenever I want 😆☝️..I am very excited about the remake starring Anne Hathaway as the grand high witch next year. Right now I don’t know why there must be a remake🙄 as I can’t imagine that a new make-up of the grand high witch will be better than the old one and also Angelica Houston performed this so well…I really don’t think Anne can beat her…but we’ll see… This was a prosthetic I made out of plastsil 10, with hair punched into. The neck is just paint.
