Twentieth Century’s The New Mutants break free in one month and this fresh TV spot introduces the “school” and teases the nefarious ulterior motives of Dr. Cecilia Reyes, played by Alice Braga.
The mutants adapted from the Marvel comic include Anya Taylor-Joy as Illyana Rasputin, also known as Magik; Charlie Heaton as Sam Guthrie, a.k.a. Cannonball; Maisie Williams as Rahne Sinclair, a.k.a. Wolfsbane; Henry Zaga as Roberto da Costa a.k.a Sunspot, a mutant with the ability to absorb and channel solar power; and Blu Hunt as Danielle Moonstar, the Native American telepath also known as “Mirage”.
Braga’s Dr. Cecilia Reyes is a medical doctor who has the ability to generate a protective bio-field around herself but also has more going on than she lets on. The film also features the infamous Demon Bear, teased in the new spot.

Director Josh Boone recently made it clear that The New Mutants is very much inspired by Dream Warriors.
The X-Men spinoff will finally make its way to theaters on April 3, 2020.
