The surviving inhabitants of Planet Earth breathed a collective sigh of relief as the halfway point of GWAR’s two-year long victory lap came and went with only vague reports of minor atrocities being committed in the name of the Universe’s most dangerous band. Speaking with a megaphone from a lofty parapet on the GWAR fortress, instead of proclaiming some cosmic doom, lead throat-thing Oderus Urungus took the opportunity to announce the release date of the new GWAR album, “GWAR’s Bloody Pit of Horror” (out Nov. 9th on Metal Blade Records), and more of the cities slated for destruction on the “Bloody Tour of Horror”, which begins Oct. 2nd in Baltimore, Md.
In a remarkably redundant statement, Oderus was quoted as saying “I hereby announce the release date of the new GWAR album, “GWAR’s Bloody Pit of Horror”, out Nov. 9th on Metal Blade Records, and more of the cities slated for destruction on the “Bloody Tour of Horror”, which begins Oct. 2nd in Baltimore, Maryland.”
The tour, their longest one yet, will take GWAR all over their usual stomping grounds in the U.S. and Canada, and will see the band travel across the Pacific to play their first shows in Australia and New Zealand as a part of the “No Sleep Til” tour. Tickets are on sale starting today

Fresh off a triumphant run of European festivals, the boys have returned to Antarctica to wrap-up preparations for the entirely new show, video, and general mayhem that will surround the much-anticipated follow-up to last year’s critically-acclaimed musical opus, “Lust in Space”. When pressed for details, Oderus, who inexplicably, was dressed in the decaying funeral suit of long-dead glam pianist Liberace, had this to say:
“This year sees no end to the torment, and delight, we shall heap upon you ungrateful slobs. Our new album has got some of the heaviest shit we have ever played, and our show is packed with brand-new, never-seen-before acts of violence, bestiality, and political in-correctness. I don’t want to spoil anything…wait,yes I do! We are chopping Sarah Palin’s tits off and feeding them to Gor-Gor, if he will have them!”
So get ready to show your love for the hardest working band in rock and roll history, as they roll out a brand new album, tour and video, all coming at you this fall!
