‘Game Of Thrones’ Kit Harington Talks ‘Silent Hill: Revelation 3D’
The stars of Michael J Bassett’s Silent Hill: Revelation 3D have been keeping relatively, erm, silent about the horror sequel. That is, until now. “Game Of Thrones” actor and Hill cast member Kit Harington has come out and said the film is “horrific.”
The British actor spoke to Bloody Disgusting’s Maria Lewis this week and said the sequel to the video game adapted horror movie is definitely for genre fans. Read on to see what he had to say!
“I think it’s pretty scary,” he said.
“Hopefully people who like the first one and like the genre and the game will enjoy it.
“It’s got all the elements they loved from the first (film) and I think it will really scare people.
“It’s horrific.”
Directed by Michael J. Bassett, and starring Adelaide Clemens, Kit Harington, Sean Bean, Radha Mitchell, Deborah Kara Unger, Carrie-Anne Moss and Malcolm McDowell, Silent Hill: Revelation 3D is currently in post-production.
Harington was straight out of drama school with only a part in stage production Warhorse to his name when he landed the role of Jon Snow on HBO’s popular fantasy show “Game Of Thrones.” The 23-year-old said although Silent Hill: Revelation 3D was his first feature film, there wasn’t much difference between the productions.
“ ‘Game Of Thrones’ is so much like a movie there wasn’t a huge difference when it came to ‘Silent Hill,’ ” he said.
“It was filmed in 3D which makes a huge difference for the people behind the camera, but for me it’s just pretty much the same thing and doing what I do.
“It was bizarre going from sword fighting and horse riding and all that fantasy stuff on ‘Game Of Thrones’ to running away from monsters.
“But the great thing about being an actor is you get to do all these bizarre things and the past year has certainly been crazy for me.
“I’ve been immersed in genre.”
Harington said it was a fantastic coincidence he got to work alongside Sean Bean again on Silent Hill: Revelation 3D after playing Bean’s bastard son in Game Of Thrones.
“ ‘Silent Hill’ gave me more experience in front of the camera, which was great, and of course I love working with Sean,” he said.
“I get on really well with him, which is lucky because it would be a nightmare if I didn’t.
“I grew up watching him and it was amazing to work alongside him in ‘Game Of Thrones’ and then cast together again in Silent Hill which was quite bizarre, but I wouldn’t have it any other way.”
Harington is attending Comic-Con in San Diego later this month as part of the “Game Of Thrones” panel and said he’s looking forward to his first experience at the convention.
“I’ve got no idea what I’m in for,” he said.
“It will be really nice to meet fans face to face and of course I like lots of attention because I’m an actor.”
Silent Hill: Revelation 3D has no release date yet.

New Documentaries Explore the Cult Legacies of ‘The Keep’ and ‘Wolfen’; Watch the Trailers Now [Exclusive]
Undersung werewolf gem Wolfen and Michael Mann’s The Keep get the spotlight in a pair of feature documentaries acquired by Antenna Releasing.
A World War II Fairy Tale, which covers the infamous production of and reception to The Keep, will receive a limited theatrical release in October, followed by a TVOD release on Apple/Amazon. The Keep will also screen as a double feature for some showings.
For Uncovering Wolfen, Antenna eyes a limited theatrical release for 2027. Both films are currently available for booking via Antenna prior to their theatrical and digital releases.
Both documentaries are directed by Stewart Buck, who co-helms with Stéphane Piter on A World War II Fairy Tale.
“We at Antenna are obsessed with film history,” said Chief Acquisitions Officer Billy Ray Brewton. “Stewart has done such a remarkable job of really diving into the deepest recesses of how these films were made and, in doing so, has created the definitive histories of both projects.”

Released in 1983, Michael Mann’s The Keep was a notorious box office bomb, critically lambasted and all but forgotten for years, save for the fascination with Tangerine Dream’s iconic score. In recent years, the film has enjoyed a bit of a resurgence and is widely considered a cult classic, though director Michael Mann and many cast members refuse to acknowledge it.
Wolfen, on the other hand, was critical success but was overshadowed heavily by its flashier 1981 siblings An American Werewolf in London and The Howling. It’s also a trailblazer for socio-political horror, and the doc will explore that via the craftspeople who made it.
