‘Some Guy Who Kills People’ Leaves A Bloody Mess
On DVD July 3 from Anchor Bay Entertainment is the John Landis (American Werewolf in London, “Thriller”) produced horror-comedy Some Guy Who Kills People. Directed by Jack Perez from a screenplay by Ryan Levin, the pic is about a lonely, small-town loser who sets out to kill each of the men he deems responsible for his miserable life. Kevin Corrigan, Lucy Davis, Barry Bostwick, Karen Black, Leo Fitzpatrick also star. We’ve updated this post with two new clips, one that leaves a bloody corpse on the lawn.
“At first glance, Ken Boyd (Corrigan) may seem like an average comic enthusiast, living with his mother and working to make ends meet as an underpaid, underappreciated ice cream parlor attendant. But Ken has a dirty little secret: he fantasizes about killing people. After being released from a stay in the loony bin, for severe mental trauma suffered when he was beaten and tortured by a gang of high school thugs, Ken’s repressed anger suddenly reaches a boiling point. He begins to hunt down his tormentors, one by one, and exacts his bloody revenge – all the while forming an unconventional bond with his estranged 11-year old daughter (Gade).”

One of contemporary horror’s best werewolf movies is 2017’s Good Manners, and it’s finally set to receive a proper physical media release.
Icarus Films is partnering with OCN Distribution to unleash a new Blu-ray that’s now available to preorder via Vinegar Syndrome. and with a limited edition slipcover.
Set in São Paulo, the film follows Clara, a lonely nurse from the outskirts of the city who is hired by mysterious and wealthy Ana to be the nanny of her soon to be born child. Against all odds, the two women develop a strong bond. But a fateful night marked by a full moon changes their plans.
Good Manners is the second collaboration between filmmakers Juliana Rojas and Marco Dutra, who write and direct. Zama’s Rui Poças‘ cinematography captures this unique werewolf tale described as “Disney meets Jacques Tourneur.”
Our own Trace Thurman wrote in his review, “With Good Manners, Rojas and Dutro have made one of the best werewolf movies ever made. That they are able juggle commentaries on racism and classism while still managing to tell two deeply affecting love stories is remarkable.”
