Sooo not scary.
i would rate this a 6/10 because it had a good outline and the movie was good but it just wasnt scary and it also had parts that made you think like “omg whats gonna happen?”
Why any true horror movie fan wouldnt like this movie is beyond my understanding.
alright i wanted more jeepers and less peepers
at first its a bit slow but after that its awsome
Shitbuster.
I *adore* this movie! Hilarious, a wee bit creepy, and the ending was awesome. Good old fashioned fun!
Just an all around fun horror movie.
The first time I saw this I wasn’t sure what to expect. It started out like Duel or Joy Ride, but it left that area pretty quick & it quickly becomes apparent that this is a totally different sort of movie. The creature design is pretty cool & all in all it’s a good ride.
Jeepers Creepers is a new form of terror. This rather good horror is a fast paced, scary as hell blockbuster of a movie, with great CGI, disturbing images and a great cast. Jeepers Creepers has one of the most best acted casts I have ever seen. The acting is really solid. The plot is well thought and developed, with some good script one liners and a good range of plot twists and turns. Jeepers Creepers is a good paced horror. I think it was too slow, that’s why it hasn’t got my 9 or 10 mark. Although, the suspense is really good, and keeps you on full alert, and right from the begining you know this film is going to be great, because of the great acting and the location, which helps with this type of horror. Something about this is actually scary, the mysterious community, the crazy mad man everyone fears, the horrible “bodie tunnel”, it’s all here.
Jeepers Creepers is a great little horror, which will please anyone looking for a good movie.
8/10
This movie is one of the best movies ive seen in my whole life. An instant horror classic! Just as any good origanal horror movie should! Great!
Its a modern horror classic!
This 2001 horror movie starring Justin Long, in one of his first roles, is a real gem that deserves some attention. “Jeepers” was directed by Victor Salva, who also directed the 2003 sequel, shows a good eye for tension and horror. This film got financial backing from famed “Godfather” director Francis Ford Coppola’s company American Zoetrope.
Darry (Long) and Trish (Gina Phillips) are brother and sister driving home from college on spring break. They have great chemistry and work really well off each other. Driving a classic car though the heartland of America they argue like any brother and sister would. After a bathroom break, an older rusted out truck drives up on them like a bat out of hell, blasting its horn and tailgating. After getting passed they wind up seeing the truck further down the road. There is man dumping something that looks like a body wrapped in a sheet down a sewer pipe. They are spotted by the man and are eventually run off the road.
Darry and Trish go back to the pipe to investigate and make sure that nobody is still alive. At times this movie can be self referential, in that the characters know they are in a horror movie and try to outsmart the basic stereotypes of the genre. “Scream” from 1996 was the movie that set the standard for this. After hearing voices, Darry fall down the pipe to find the grotesque lair of “The Creeper.” The lair is the basement of an old abandon church. Darry emerges from the lair and they drive off to get help at a local café. They don’t find much help except from a psychic that mysteriously calls them on a pay phone. The whole plot of the movie is kind of cheesy and unbelievable, but the characters really save this movie and make it into a surprise hit.
As explained by the psychic, every 23rd spring for 23 days the Creeper feeds. It sniffs out certain people and eats particular organs that its body absorbs and becomes apart of him. The Creeper reveals that he has bat like wings, and upon close inspection he looks a bit like a meaner version of the “Creature from the Black Lagoon”. As I mentioned in the last review cops are really not much help when it comes to these kinds of movies. There is a big final battle at the police station where the Creeper takes over. I won’t reveal the ending but it is a little different that what I expected.
Wow I can’t believe I haven’t reviewed this film already! I’ll be honest and sincere here: I know this film from a general and broad viewpoint really isn’t that good. However, for some reason, I have an unwilling love and attachment to this B-Creature Feature schlock fest that plays like an awesomely scary road movie. I think I really enjoyed the movie in my earlier childhood and thus have a soft spot for it. Still, this movie is fun as hell. Even if you think it’s laughable, you’ll still have a great time lawling it up! Personally I think the writing and effects are brilliant and this movie is actually creepy and legitimately original. Yup. One of my fav horror flicks probably. Can’t wait for a third installment!!!
Oh man one of the decades best surprises in my book! It came out of nowhere and blew me away. I really wish they would hurry up with a sequel.I always hoped the creeper would be the next icon of horror but after two only performed two mil less at the box office there has only been talk.I hate that! Been a long time where I was really scared in theaters at that time, and then feeled with such suspense.Makes me wanna go home and watched it for the hundreth time just thinking about it.One of my all time favorite horror flicks!
one of the classics:), gina phillips mostly outdid Justin in this film her acting it really good:), the creeper dude was creepy:),overall good movie
I thought it was a pretty good creature flick. I loved the way it was done and how the story was. Some of the parts were cheesy and some of the acting was really shitty but overall it was pretty good. Great creature.
A very fun monster movie, the creeper is awesome.
Awsome Movie. Fun, Action-Packed, Creepy, & Scar. Some of the acting was pretty lame and some of efects were pretty cheesy but overall great creature flick. 10/10.
Strangely enjoyable.
It was good movie I liked it, but the 2nd movie wasn’t that good! They were stuck on a da*n bus.
I really liked this one, very good horror film!don’t believe the bad reviews you hear.
Jeepers Creepers is a brilliant film, a good mix of blood and gore with a supernatural element. It’s filled with suspense and great acting. Definitely worth a watch.
A good idea can only go so far. The director of “Jeepers Creepers” obviously had a PRETTY good idea going when he envisioned his very own frightfest, although as the saying goes, this idea “only went so far”.
To be fair, “Jeepers Creepers” goes pretty far for quite some time, but then stops past the half-way point. And I’m thinking: What the hell, I was enjoying this. And yes, I was enjoying “Jeepers Creepers”, but neither the writer nor the director care; they’re just making their movie. And it just doesn’t work. It feels incomplete, it’s never thoroughly entertaining, and it squanders a potentially exciting and interesting horror experience. I like horror movies because they can thrill me in one way or another, but this thing does nothing more than disappoint the audience that it was made for.
Trish (Gina Philips) and Darry (Justin Long) are in deep trouble. They’re driving through the country-side of Florida when a creepy, old-looking truck’s driver attempts to run them over with his vehicle. The two avoid their demise by allowing the truck to pass, although they end up going the same way as the driver, and they witness him dump some bodies into a pipe in the backyard of a church. Frightened but curious, the younglings wait it out until he leaves, so that they can investigate. Darry goes down the pipe and sees something truly frightening; while Trish is only allowed descriptions.
And I’m sure you too want some descriptions, so without further ado, here you go. Darry sees bodies; hollow, very much dead, and even tied together like “quilts”, as Darry himself describes the sight. Scared and reckless, the siblings drive away to the nearest gas-station, call the police, and even receive a strange call from an anonymous woman who warns them of the man’s true identity. Apparently, the man is a demonic force known as The Creeper. He is hungry for human flesh; fast, and with the ability to fly. How about that!
I liked the first half of the movie because the location, in the mid-day, looked like a nice place to set a horror film. But of course, when things turn to night, it just becomes another old horror set-up. You see; there’s not a whole lot separating “Jeepers Creepers” from other horror movies. It’s not bad, but it lacks the true horror of its subject matter as well as the wit that could have been taken out of it. The final scenes are neither scary nor particularly thrilling. In fact, it ends on a ridiculously clichéd note; leaving room open for the sequel, which I learn already DOES exist.
Now, I guess when it comes to reviews about movies such as this one, I must talk about the movie monster that has been brought to the screen. The Creeper is a humanoid demon that disguises itself as a human male, but is in actuality, some sort of super-ugly reptilian goblin-thing with bat wings. It lacks true characteristics as well as a personality, a motive, or anything else. We see some glimpses of its hide-out toward the end, but that tells us nothing.
In the end, “Jeepers Creepers” serves its purpose, and will impress some. It has some decent jump scenes, decent set-design, and impressive direction. But that’s not nearly enough when you’re trying to make a creeper; a horror movie which is almost impossible to make these days. In the end, it’s just too dimwitted of a movie to match its potentially smart and entertaining premise. But you can’t say they didn’t try. I mean, come on; it has the titular 30′s song of the same name in it. And many other classic tunes as well. So right there, you have something better-than-average, or perhaps, still average. Take it as you will.
Good flick, although i wouldn’t be rushing off to see the second one anytime soon. Hopefully the third one can redeem the series.
This movie sucks what is so special about it ?
I love this movie! I can watch it over and over again. It is one of my favourite movies.
