5 Great Alternate Horror Posters!!!

This list is directly inspired by a post I did a few months back that featured 11 Alternate Horror Posters from Thailand. As I was looking this over last night and enjoying the artwork once again, I thought, “well of course there’s a sh*tload more of these out there.” They don’t only have to be from Thailand. So this morning I did some digging and found a few more that I liked. READ MORE

10 Amazing Horror Comedies!!!

Horror Comedies are by far the most difficult horror sub-genre to execute. They’re also the most likely to fail commercially. While they’re one of my favorite sub genres and I wish there were more of them, when you combine those factors it’s a miracle there aren’t even less. READ MORE

11 Alternate Horror Posters That Will Blow Your Mind!!

Movie posters seem to be a dying art these days. One of the reasons we get so excited over a good one is because it’s almost as rare as seeing a unicorn. While boutique companies like Mondo regularly craft amazing and passionate one-sheets, it’s a business that the studios themselves rarely engage in anymore. I mean, Drew Struzan is still around, don’t you guys think he should be working more? As far as horror posters go, the 70′s and 80′s were obviously the halcyon days. READ MORE

Take The Expanded Ultimate Horror Challenge!!! How Do You Rank Now?

We have heard your cries! MANY of you felt that the The Ultimate Horror Challenge wasn’t comprehensive enough! So we included an additional 20 films that round it out a bit more. Many of these are from your suggestions! But this still isn’t a list of every horror movie ever made. And it still doesn’t contain every major work of every horror auteur (there’s still no John Carpenter’s They Live or Wes Craven’s The Last House On The Left). READ MORE

Take The Ultimate Horror Challenge!!! What’s Your Score?

This isn’t a list of every horror movie ever made. Nor does it contain every major work of every horror auteur (you’ll notice we didn’t include John Carpenter’s They Live or Wes Craven’s The Last House On The Left). Rather, this is a compendium of films that we feel – in one way or another – are essential viewing for every horror fan. Some are mainstream (Poltergeist), some aren’t (Cannibal Holocaust). It’s a broad sampling of key films from the genre. READ MORE

He also worked on Visual Effects for both Star Wars and John Carpenter’s Dark Star. He even scripted portions of Heavy Metal and the incredible Total Recall. He will be missed. (more…) READ MORE

The Top 10 Most Batsh*t Crazy Horror Movie Doctors!

Most people get a little nervous when they have to go to the doctor—but horror fans have more reason than anyone else. With the release of Pathology – a film about demented med students—coming up next month, I got to thinking about all the psychopathic, murderous, or just plain “not right” doctors we’ve seen throughout the history of horror movies. Let’s face it, there have been quite a few docs up on the silver screen who had no business getting past med school (unless it’s that Evil Medical School that Dr. Evil went to). Anyhow, here are ten nutjobs who give new meaning to the word “sawbones”… (more…) READ MORE
