‘Resident Evil: Apocalypse’ and ‘RE: Extinction’ Bring Milla Jovovich and Zombies to Netflix in March

Published

The only Resident Evil film that’s currently streaming on Netflix is 2010’s Resident Evil: Afterlife, but that’s set to change with the addition of two more sequels this coming March.

We’ve learned this week that 2004’s Resident Evil: Apocalypse and 2007’s Resident Evil: Extinction, the film franchise’s first two sequels, will be hitting Netflix on March 1st.

In Alexander Witt’s Apocalypse, Alice wakes up in Raccoon City Hospital after the city has been overrun by zombies. Alice must now make it out of the city before a bomb is dropped.

And in Russell Mulcahy’s Extinction, survivors of the Raccoon City catastrophe travel across the Nevada desert, hoping to make it to Alaska. Alice joins the caravan and their fight.

While I’m not personally a big fan of the former film, Extinction is one of my favorite sequels in the franchise, putting Milla Jovovich‘s Alice into a Mad Max-style wasteland.

If you’d rather revisit the films on Blu-ray, you can pick up the complete 6-film Resident Evil collection over on Amazon for just $39.34. All around, it’s a fun zombie-slaying saga.

When best friends Glen (Stephen Dorff) and Terry (Louis Tripp) stumble across a mysterious crystalline rock in Glen’s backyard, they quickly dig up the newly sodden lawn searching for more precious stones. The teenagers soon understand what evil they’ve released as they are overcome with an assortment of horrific experiences. With fiendish followers invading suburbia, it’s now up to the kids to discover the secret that can lock The Gate forever . . . if it’s not too late.

If you’ve never seen The Gate, it’s now streaming on Prime Video and Tubi.
