Cary Elwes Confirmed for ‘Saw 3D’, Full Synopsis and Cast!

We’ve been hearing rumors that both Cary Elwes and Monica Potter would be returning in Lionsgate’s Saw 3D – the seventh film in the franchise – but haven’t been able to get any surefire confirmation. This evening Lionsgate released the “revealed” cast listing, which confirms that Elwes will in fact be returning as Dr. Lawrence Gordon in the Kevin Greutert directed sequel penned once again by Marcus Dunstan and Patrick Melton. Still no word on if Potter will return as Alison Gordon, but below we’ve got the rest of the cast and the official synopsis. Saw VII 3D opens against Paranormal Activity 2 on October 22. Update: Has the New Nancy Been Cast in the ‘Nightmare’ Reboot? NO…

Rumors are circulating that Amanda Crew is being strongly considered to play the role of Nancy in the redux of A Nightmare on Elm Street, we’ve confirmed that this news is 100% UNTRUE, so consider this rumor debunked and kicked in the can. Crew can be seen this weekend in Lionsgate’s The Haunting in Connecticut, alongside New Line Cinema’s Final Destination 3. The original films’ premise centered on Krueger, a serial child killer murdered by angry parents, who returns with a burnt face and a razor glove to terrorize teens in their dreams. FD3 Stars Joins Cast of Fox’s ‘Wrong Turn 2′

Regular B-D scooper Joey M. discovered over at Crystal Lo’s official website that she, and Texas Battle have joined the cast of 20th Century Fox’s Wrong Turn 2. Both Lo and Battle stared together in Final Destination 3, and Lo can also be seen in the upcoming remake of Black Christmas. And the new Jason Voorhees, Ken Kirzinger (Freddy vs Jason), has also joined the cast according to The Horror Channel. This installment centers on Ma and Pa, the inbreds (also brother and sister!) who spawned the deformed villains seen in the original movie; the murderous couple terrorize the contestants on a SURVIVOR-style reality show who wind up getting lost in the savages’ woods. FD3 Cast Reunites in Paramount’s ‘Case 39′

B-D scooper Joey M. pointed us over to the IMDB where he discovered that a lot of the Final Destination 3 cast will be reuniting in Paramount Pictures’ Case 39, which stars Renee Zellweger. According to IMDB, Starring next to Renee will be Texas Battle, Sam Easton, Alexz Johnson, Alexa Karter, Crystal Lowe, Ryan Merriman, Chelan Simmons, Kirsten Storms and Alexis Thorpe. Written by Ray Wright, “Case 39″ centers on an idealistic social worker (Zellweger) who saves an abused 10-year-old girl from her parents only to discover that things are not as they appear. ‘Final Destination 3′ Website Launch/Trailer Online!

Today New Line Cinema launched their official website for Final Destination 3, which we showed you the poster for two days ago here. To watch the trailer, you just need to check out the website by clicking above, and hopefully you’ve got a good connection (and a good computer) or you won’t be able to watch it. Set six years after the original Final Destination film, the latest installment in the series, which hits theaters February 10th, centers around a high school senior who has a premonition of a fatal roller coaster accident involving herself and all her friends. When the premonition proves true, those who have “cheated death” and survived the accident are forced to deal with the repercussions of escaping their fate. ‘Final Destination 3′ Name Change/Trailer Date

It has been brought to our attention quite a few times that ‘Cheating Death’ was a working title in the front of New Line Cinema’s Final Destination 3- even producer Craig Perry told us that on the set. But further confirming the rumor are the various attendees of the test screening here in California, who have been emailing me the past few days. In other FD3 news, star Alexz Johnson confirms that the teaser trailer for the film should be attached to Lions Gate Films’ Saw II on October 28th. Watch for it online the same day.
